The National Intellectual Rights Service (SENADI) offers a system of discounts applicable to certain fees for intellectual property-related services. This benefit aims to facilitate access to the protection of trademarks, patents, industrial designs, and other intellectual property rights for various productive and research sectors.
Who Can Access These Discounts?
According to the regulations and procedures established by SENADI, the following groups may apply for this benefit:
- Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
- Independent researchers.
- Higher education institutions.
- Public sector entities.
- Small and medium-scale farmers and agricultural producers’ organizations.
- Popular and solidarity economy organizations and enterprises.
- Artisans.
- Beneficiaries of the Inventors Assistance Program (PAI).
- Entrepreneurs.
How to Access the Benefit?
Applicants must first request a discount certificate through SENADI’s official forms and submit the documentation proving their eligibility for the applicable category.
Once the application has been reviewed and approved, SENADI will issue a Financial Certificate valid for one year from the date of issuance.
It is important to obtain this certificate before generating the payment receipt or initiating the corresponding procedure, as it constitutes an essential requirement for accessing the applicable discounts.
At Quevedo Ponce, we provide comprehensive intellectual property legal services, assisting entrepreneurs, companies, researchers, and other rights holders in managing their proceedings before SENADI.
